College Station Police Department promotes Gatlin Kling

Chief Scott McCollum and the members of the College Station Police Department are pleased to announce the promotion of an officer within the agency. The officer, Gatlin Kling, has completed a rigorous selection process and is being promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Sgt. Gatlin Kling is a native of Bryan, Texas. He is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University, majoring in Communications and Journalism. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he was employed with an Engineering and Surveying Company in Bryan before joining the department in July of 2010. Since joining the department, he has served as a Patrol Officer, a Field Training Officer, a member of the SWAT Team, and as a Detective. His most recent assignment was serving in the Patrol Division as a Corporal and a Field Training Officer. Sgt. Kling has received numerous commendations, including Employee of the Month in January of 2018 for his role in saving two citizens from a house fire. Sgt. Kling will be assigned as a supervisor in the Patrol Division.
